My old and trusty mascaras (Maybelline Colossal Volume Waterproof Mascara review here and Clinique High Impact Mascara) both dried out at the same time. I loved the two: the Maybelline was my everyday mascara and I wore the stronger Clinique for special occasions and with evening or eye-heavy make-up. This system worked out quite well so now I’m in search for two new mascaras.
Did I find the perfect matches? Not exactly, I now own one good and one okay in a pinch (such a shame!) and the search is still on.
Skin care and makeup shifts for me when summer comes. Firstly because I leave to stay with family and friends in Canada and there’s no way of packing everything (still managed a considerable amount of lipstick!?) I wear a little bit less of the last and a little bit more of the first. Anyway there are three key products that see a lot of use and help me keep up with everything…
I finished up a few (perhaps a little bit more than few, if they can fit only in two posts… ;D) products in the last few months so here’s a compilation with a few thoughts and a verdict about repurchase.
Today I went out shopping to Square One, Mississauga. It’s not Toronto but they offer everything under the sun and does look a little bit more metropolitan with all the sky-scrapers in the center. I also like the mall because it carries all the brands and stores I love and even some that I sorely miss from Hungary, like Zara and H&M or Topshop that I fell in love with during my stay in England. I’m on a student budget but I still squared out some bucks to spend even though I came home with barely anything. Luck was not on my side but I still wouldn’t call the day a total wast either. Here’s how it went…
As I mentioned before in my Beauty Packing for Travel post I’m staying with my family and only for a week so I packed really light clothes wise. This meant enough space for my considerable travel stash in my fav toilette bag with tiny whales (yeah, you read right!!!) and hearts from Women’s Secret. Be forewarned, this is not the lightest I have ever packed I could definitely downsize more but this time I didn’t have the space constrains so I was able to pack a little bit of everything however no make-up brushes this time. I decided to go with the hands are your best tools approach… it’s a first but I’m not complaining yet.
I love Sephora and their skincare and cosmetic lines and I know how hard it is to decide what to spend your money on when you step in that huge place. My first time was 3 HOURS long!!! Also buying in the store is a lot of times not an option for a poor student like me (I use the website a lot). Buying on the internet is quick and easy but it is kinda hard to find the best when you are deprived of the real experience of the senses (touch, smell, sight mostly). So I read and research before buying and still have misses and overlooked products while I’m on the mission of looking for the best. In this context even if it seems over-crowded in the blogging world, writing reviews is something important. You cannot have enough information (especially if you don’t have copious amounts of money) so I will do my best to give a good, solid opinion and tips for usage whenever I decide to mention and photograph a product.
