This post was planned to go up on Saturday but my Internet went puff for the weekend and the better half of the week too. It was a bummer but finally here I am with my orange toned lip products. Orange lipsticks are my absolute favorite bold shades to wear. They go best with my skin tone and I love that every time I wear one it feels like I’m making a statement.
Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti
Revlon’s lip butters are the best sheers out there. They are really hyped in the beauty community but with cause. They are hydrating and light feeling on the lips but pack a surprising amount of color. I recommend it to everyone especially if you are not ready to wear the full on color. They also have a nice range of colors so everyone can find their pick. Tutti Frutti is more of a pleasant, dainty orange than an opaque, bold color. It tints the lips only lightly. If you need an introduction to the shade this is the one!
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous
Another Revlon offering… They were one of the first crayon format lip products on the drug store market. They are sheeny, hydrating and smell of mint with a tingle inducing quality that makes your lips feel really pouty. It packs a little bit more color than the lip butters but still not too in your face.
YSL Rouge Pur Couture 13 Le Orange
YSL’s Le Orange is a vibrant color on the red side. It’s super glossy and flattering, though it tends to feather and smear some if you’re not careful. I would advise the use of a lip pencil with this one for longevity and clear lip lines. This color is a favorite for more than one celebrities, it’s Kourtney Kardashian’s signature lipstick.
NARS Matte Lip Pencil in Four Square
NARS matte lip pencils are my favorite mattes for application. Thanks to the nice tips they are easy to use and drawing on the lips is a breeze. This would be my favorite lip product only if they could put a twist up feature in it. Instead you need a good sharpener (with a chubby slot) and 10 minutes in a freezer to toughen up. It’s not the end of the world but definitely an inconvenience. The color is a bright orange toned tomato red, perhaps more on the orange than on the red side. Like every mattes it’s long wearing but can be a little bit drying, a lip balm under is generally a good idea, though I’m lucky enough to pull it off without one in a pinch.
